Flame in Chalice
Nicholas Roerich was a Russian-born artist who became a cultural figure of global significance, a passionate promoter through his art and writings of an increased appreciation of the value to the world of the cultural heritage of all nations, and of the ways in which this appreciation can help to achieve peace in the world.
"Flame in Chalice" is the English translation of Roerich’s "Цветы Мории” ("Flowers of Morya"). "Цветы Мории" was published in 1921 in Berlin (in Russian) and contains Roerich’s poems written in 1916-1920. The English translation was published in 1929 under the title Flame in Chalice, so that it would not bear connection to the first two books of Agni Yoga series: Leaves of Morya’s Garden. "Pis’mena" was the Soviet time edition of the poems.
Irina Corten’s text is a clever introduction to the book of poems. It emphasizes the progressive transformation of a disciple along the poems. This text is shown on the page Spiritual Pilgrimage.
The poems of NICHOLAS ROERICH, entitled FLAME IN CHALICE, have been published by Kessinger Publications.
